- NV Rare Wine Company Historic Series Madeira New Orleans Special Reserve - Portugal, Madeira (5/4/2013)
This bottle is from the original RWC blend of 7-8 years ago, which as I understand it used more Terrantez than the current blend. The wine is incredible! The depth of flavor is amazing, and the finish just doesn't stop. The palate is strong with citrus and butterscotch, with moderate sweetness that is balanced out perfectly by the acid. It paired beautifully with the soft shell crab at the Columbia Yacht Club. (95 pts.)

I have always loved this bottling too. The newer version, not nearly in the same league, although good ... just not great. The older bottling is really stunning juice and at its original release price, was quite a great deal too. I have owned about 9 bottles of it as I purchased four from friends who did not want theirs. Wish I could find more, as I only have two bottles left.

I'm down to my last one. It's going to be tough determining when the time is worthy for taking it out!Roy Hersh wrote:Wish I could find more, as I only have two bottles left.
