So was it a 1905 (first time in text when ordering) or 1902 (later reference in text after consuming)?
And is it D'Olivieras (title and text) or D'Oliveiras (painted on the side of the building in the photo)?

Entertaining, but a couple of problems with the story. Most likely the 05 Verdelho, never heard of the 02 D'Oliverias Verdelho.
I thought foie was illegal in CA now, unless it's a story a couple of years ago.
I doubt the wine was pressed in old goat skins.
I agree the dish (although I'd never order it, sounds too trendy) would go well with the Verdelho. Nitpicking I know.
