another 1795 Terrantez... help needed!

Post by Peter Reutter »

Fellow Madeira wine savants, I would appreciate your help with yet another 1795 Terrantez wine from an unknown producer... [help.gif]

Please read the latest post at http://www.madeirawineguide.com/ and take a look at the last picture. Have you ever seen this 1795 wine? Do you know something about its origin? [shrug.gif]

Any information is highly appreciated! [beg.gif]

I'm not sure I've ever seen a bottle quite like that. Are there any markings on the glass on the underside of the bottle? Another mystery?

I'll resurrect this thread with a related posting.

I checked the madeira list on the Christopher Keiller Fine Wine web site. There was this listing:

Sobral Family 1795 Terrantez Vinho Madeira Especial - GBP2,500 for one bottle.

Has anyone seen this one before?
