Gould Campbell LBV 2005 - Pop-n-pour it was a little hot but after about an hour it smoothed out. Rather thin I thought.

I had the same reaction. Thin and hot. Found it acidic, too. Lighter color than I'd expect for an 2005 LBV, too. Even a day later it was still a little hot.Michael T wrote:Gould Campbell LBV 2005 - Pop-n-pour it was a little hot but after about an hour it smoothed out. Rather thin I thought.

Not my bottle. But a Sandeman 20 year old tawny (bottled 2013) by the glass at my hotel bar. And by "by the glass" I mean a good sized white wine glass filled a little over 1/2 full. I'm a happy man :)

A bottle of Taylor 1983. I haven't had this for a while and was curious to see if it still deserved its poor reputation. Interestingly, I rather enjoyed it. It's not the elegant masterpiece that you find with the 1970 or 1977, but it was very enjoyable sipping port.

Re: What have you opened this week?
Finished a bottle of 2007 Fonseca LBV yesterday after opening it about a month ago (kept at in wine cooler at 64F).
Was surprised how well it still showed. Sadly, the tannins were mostly gone but the other components were largely in place. Still felt rich in the mouth, though the alcohol heat was a little more apparent than in a freshly opened bottle. Still showed a lot of fruit without being too sweet.
