Does it have to be something important? A bottle of Warre's Late Bottled VIntage 2002; A Dow's Crusted; and a Sandeman Founder's Reserve, a Ferriera 1994 Vintage Porto, remnants of a case, that has actually turned out to be quite nice, and a Tayllor LBV 2007,,,, hmmmm. Not very classy, but a fair amount of real drinking juice. And why was the question asked?

Don't think the average price went north of $25 a bottle.

Once I found it, no. ;-). I could have ordered all 23 bottles. They were all gone within 24 hours. So yes it's hard to find :-)

Not anywhere near me. There are a few places with some VPs on the menu, but the one place I gave a chance at having a Nacional did not. They did have one Quinta de Noval, a non-Nacional 1963.

While on a trip to Stockholm and Tallinn, I bought Royal Oporto 10-yo, Smith 10-yo and Graham's 20-yo. And, Offley Colheita 1997. [cheers.gif]

Stopped by my favorite local b&m to see if they had any 2011 VPs. Nope, not yet. So I picked up instead, one each:
1997 Dow Colheita (bottled 2011)
1999 Dow Quinta do Bomfim
2009 Graham's Quinta dos Malvedos

Finally .... at last I was successfull in getting a case (6) of Fonseca 1985 VP at auction this weekend [yahoo.gif] [yahoo.gif]

Got it at a, in my opinion, quite reasonable price of just under € 55 a bottle (incl buyer's premium)

Nice deal. In the US the lowest I've been able to get it for was $69 w buyers premium.
