Robertson's Rebello Valente
Does anybody know anything about this Port, which I have never heard of? Chambers Street in NYC has the 1977 for $80. As I am also of the 1977 vintage, I'm always on the lookout for a '77 Port worth trying.

Keith, Robertson is owned by Sandeman, and (according to the experts) they used to make some good VPs. FWIW, JS rated the '77 89 points (in 1990).
I've only tasted the '80 and '83, and I thought they were both well past their peak. According to the Dutch importer, the '85 is the last VP produced, and the name is used (in The Netherlands at least) only for cheap white, ruby and tawny Ports. I would like to know whether Robertson still produces premium Ports for other markets?...

Old labels never die -- well, OK; rarely -- they just get chosen for specific markets.
I have had a number of fine Robertson Vintage Ports over the years, but as Steve said, it's mostly a label used for lower-end Rubies and Tawnies. Vintage Ports occasionally show up at places like Trader Joe's . . .
Cheers,
Jason

Porto comes from only one place . . . no matter what the label says!
