Figs, apricots in nose. Great caramel nose and taste plus toffee and fruit in mouth. Great, long finish. 19/20. (4/17/00).

I had this over Christmas, decanted 24 hours. It stood up well to the dark chocolate dessert.

Medium-plus intensity brown with tawny/amber rim.

High intensity nose- walnuts, nail polish, dried fruits and light spice.

Medium-plus body and acid. Caramel, nuts, lighter nail polish with some dried orange peel all contributing to medium-plus complexity. Very long finish. 4 stars (out of 5).

Steve,

Is that right? The tasting note was from 14 years ago?

Barry,
We love TN's of any sort, even older ones. Please post away so others can benefit :thanks:

I am to blame for Steve's old note appearing again. I posted my TN by searching for the wine and then replying to his post.

Is there a better way to post a TN and have it in a string with other TNs for that wine?

Peter,
For a TN to appear in this section, and to differentiate it from non-TN's, it must have a TN: prior to the name in the "subject" box. Then be listed such as this one, 1900 D'Oliveira Malvasia Vintage Madeira

If someone spelled it differently then it may not link from the yellow quick link button within the actual topic. We moderators do try to clean them up from time to time, but sometimes even the actual bottles are spelled differently when from different bottling runs. So it makes ensuring tasting note subjects (names) on Madeira are consistent especially tough sometimes. The best bet is to search not using the yellow hot botton, but from the main page TNDB search field link here, doing a partial name search, or inputting just a vintage.
