2011 Vintage Ports -- drinking now?
Now that everyone has had a chance to buy in if they wanted some ... are you going to just keep them in the cellar, or are you going to drink some young?

I won't drink any of the 750ml bottles, but I was thinking that I will probably go out and buy a couple 375ml bottles to try young. I can't say much has made it out my way yet either. The Fonseca and Croft are on the shelves but thats it so far, I'm still waiting for the Calem and Burmester to turn up. I'm hoping that a few others will come through

I bought ~1 case of the premium blends (Stone Terraces, Capela, and VVV) to hold. Everything else (which isn't much) is for early drinking as I don't think I'll be around when these are mature! ![Praying [beg.gif]](./images/smilies/beg.gif)

Untill now I only bought Dow, both 750 and 375 bottles. I'm planning to drink the 375 bottles in the next couple of years, the 750 bottles probably will go to my son as I'm already in my fifties...

We bought a bakers dozen of a few houses, so for each of those we will drink one young(over the next two years) when we get together with our family and then primarily store the rest. The vesuvio we only found 10 of altogether, though, so we might not pop one of those young.

I just bought a couple of 375s for earlier sampling. The rest will have to wait, but I hope to still pick up a few odd bottles and more halves.

I will be drinking some soon. I have half bottles that I purchased for that purpose
The 750's will be for laying down. I *might* crack a few 750s over the next two years, but it's unlikely.

Bought a 0.375 of Taylor and Fonseca and have had them both now. Had the Taylor pretty much straight out of the bottle and sampled it over three night while I decanted the Fonseca 10-12 hours in a big bowl and drank it that same night. So difficult to compare but I prefered the Fonseca and could easily enjoy it from this day forth as long as it gets a good lng decant.
Also attended a VP 2011 tasting with a Copenhagen based port group where we tasted Kopke, Churchill's, Pocas, Ferreira, Vale d. Maria and Maynard's. Among the approx 28 tasters the Ferreira was the WOTN with Kopke and Pocas on a shared second. All drinking very well and quite enjoyable now. Youthful indeed but not at all rough.
I really liked especially the Ferreira but have to say that it was not even remotely close to the Fonseca, so would buy more Fonseca and drink Young since the price of the two are not that different here in Denmark.

I absolutely love the '11s at the moment. I drank a bottle of the Vesuvio a couple of weeks ago, and a half of Romaneira. Early this year I had halves of Dow and Fonseca alongside each other.
I know these are likely to turn into wonderful, wonderful ports with 50 years in the cellar but why not drink them now when they taste better than anything else you can buy for the same price today?

Trying out a bottle of the 2011 Dow's this evening. Very excited for it. It smells so jammy in the decanter.
