A very good article. My jaw kinda dropped when he reports that D'Oliveiras has approx 1.5 million liters of old wine. :shock: Looks like my future grand kids may have a crack at some after all!

One week from today, heading for what will be my greatest week of Madeira ever. Can't wait to get back there, after skipping last year. The Madeirathon is going to rock. Eric, David, Steve and others ... I hope you are ready. A slew of bottles of all ages coming our way!

As for John's 70 page article, I've downloaded it to read on the flight to Madeira. :scholar:

I like his writing a lot, although we have very different takes on some wines.

I agree. I like his writing and my taste matches some of his notes, but some don't. I met him once at a tasting in San Francisco.
