Ok, thanks for that clarification!

I heard from Lindsay and he will be bringing the Offley and Cockburn's which as of yet had been unspoken for.

I'm curious about Sunday activities, if any. I've reserved two nights at non-refundable rates, so hopefully something is brewing for Sunday afternoon or evening. [beg.gif]

Does anyone have Churchill's or Noval (regular)? I would love to see them in the tasting. I have others I could give you in trade if you could give them up for the tasting.

I'll trade a 1994 Quinta do Noval for a Nacional

Eric,
I have a much better idea. You bring your Nacional and I will find a Noval Regular for the tasting. What do you think?

Lots of people recently purchased 1994 Quinta do Noval Nacional bottlings from an offering on this Forum. Not one has offered up a bottle. [shrug.gif]

Sorry Don.

A couple of people have asked about a Sunday event, the day after the big tasting of 1994's on Saturday.

At this time, it looks like we will only have enough 1994's to do the Saturday event.

Then again, I am happy to contribute other bottles of Port for a Sunday event, maybe something less structured and mid-afternoon, as people will need to "recover" after the night before. I am already deeply involved in my annual Fair project (sadly), so would love to have others' help in planning/organizing as I am up to my eyeballs.

For those of you in WA and also for those flying in ... what say you?

Me too, but not 1994. Something more "ready" to drink. [cheers.gif]

If we add on a Sunday event, I think as per usual, we add parameters like either VP or Colheitas from 1970 and older.

In a compromise based on a quick discussion this morning, the parameters have changed to Vintage Port and Colheita 1977 and older. [friends.gif]

In a most generous offer, David Spriggs has emailed to let me know that he will bring a bottle of the 1994 Quinta do Noval Nacional along, if participants are willing to ante up $40 cash per person to chip in for the bottle. That would allow him to recoup $600 towards the cost of the bottle. I think it would be great to have that one at the tasting and I am doing my best to have one of our guests bring the 1994 regular Noval bottling too.

So, this is an "all or nothing" situation. If everyone coming is willing to do this, then we can taste the Nacional for sure. I need people to be proactive here and register their confirmation on what they want to do. Again, unless this is unanimous, the Nacional will not be coming ... so pay it forward. [friends.gif]
