Largely off topic, purchased a glass of Royal Oporto 40 Year Tawny at Coimbra Restaurant in Newark, NJ for a v affordable $17 (as much as enough suckling pig for 2!). V smooth, great acidity, nuts in the finish. 93-94 pts unsure when bottled or how long the bottle had been open.

Had asked for the 1953 tawny they had on the list but sadly they were out.

Oh yes... That 1863 is a very special wine. In my opinion, wine (any and all wine) doesn't get much better the than that!

I make an awesome goat cheese cheesecake with red wine grape compote, but it goes better with VP and doesn't travel well either. So you come to Colorado for that, and I'll come to Denmark for colheitas. I'm in a wine tasting group here and one of the members is from Denmark as well, and still has a home and cellar there.
I have been looking at this Niepoort Colheita 1935 in a German winestore for a while. And I got the urge to buy it. The bottle came in today.

So now 3 bottles of that fine nectar is In my gentle Care. And I Can feel the Famous Cheesecake ala Menchen getting closer aswell.

Pristine bottles of 1970 Fonseca VP sold privately from a non-FTLOP friend's cellar.

Took delivery on some Krohn wines: six 20 year old, four 30 year old, and three 1976 Colheita. Got them at Premier Cru in Berkeley, CA. They still have quite a bit of Krohn available. Might be one of the last times to get some.
