Choosing an Armagnac for Charity

Post by Buck W. »

I need some assistance making an Armagnac selection for a Charity donation. I've been offered two choices, either one for $650.00: 1) 1958 Dartigalongue 50 year Bas-Armagnac, 2) 1949 Labiette Castille Armagnac. I know nothing about Armagnac, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'd go with the '49. It's easier to pronounce and older, therefore a little bit cooler. Unfortunately that's about all I know about Armagnac as well :-(.

Gentlemen - Thank you anyway. On a note I know we know more about, I have found the other two pieces to go with my auction lot donation I'm calling, "The Night Cap". 1) 1994 Taylor Fladgate Vintage Port (Magnum), 2) 1959 Blandy's Madeira Bual. With the Armagnac added to it, and a few chocolate/salted caramel goodies, I'm hoping it will raise a few bucks. Thanks Again!

That's quite a night cap! Good luck with the auction. Please do report back here afterwards to let us know how it goes!
