Bought for about 55$ in NYC...
Had one of the worst case of cork crumbling I've ever seen with this one, the bottom half of the cork just desintegrated and had to be pushed in the bottle.
I've always enjoyed Warre vintages for their delicate, subtle nature and this is no exception. Quite pale for a 1983, with some light brick color on the rim, wonderful aroma of leather and black currant on the nose. Not a heavyweight on the palate either, but very pleasant and well integrated, no signs of heat from the alcool. It smells better than it tastes, but this was a very nice bottle for the price (4 hours after decant).
24 hours later, it was even more integrated and strangely enough, I thought the aftertaste and a lot more length to it and the wonderful aroma was still there.
All in all, very nice, a solid 8.5 (at a nice price). Drink now if you have some...

I love the Warre '83. Its probably the port that I have drunk most of, most often since I happened to be in the right place at the right time a few years back to pick up a fair sized parcel at a knockdown price.
I also think that its drinking really well at the moment, probably at its peak. While its not a blockbuster wine (8½ points is about where I would put it) its a great "go to" VP.
Glad to hear that there are at least (only!?) two other fans out there.
For those of you who own but haven't tried this wine - its horrible. You should throw it out immediately. Contact Tom and I and we'd be glad to take it to the local refuse tip for you, free of charge
