2003, 2005 & 2007 Fonseca LBVs
2007 Royal Oporto LBV
Taylor 10 year
Sandeman 20 year

All showed great--out of 10 gents, each one got at least one vote as WOTN--don't think that ever happened before. Most votes for the 2005 Fonseca LBV. Second was the 20 Yr Sandeman.

Didn't open it but had a glass of 20 yr Sandeman at a restaurant on Friday night.

Have been having the Ferreira and the Andresen at home and it felt that the Sandeman didn't measure up. Not as rich in the mouth nor as long a finish. Still v nice though :)

The restaurant also had 1985 Dow VP by the glass. Seems that they go through a bottle every couple of weeks... Didn't feel often enough for me to risk it...

I had a Calem 2000 colheita at a restaurant yesterday. Very nice. I've been focused on rubies lately, I think I need to devote some time to tawnies now!

Ferreira 20 Yr

Sipping it right now! Love the long finish. Just wish it felt richer in the mouth like the Andresen 20 does.

Good Tawny for sure and I only wish I could get Andresen in my parts. Both solid bottles!

2006 Dows LBV at a friends. Pop and pour. Robust, black fruit forward nice finish with hint of tar/leather. A bit sweet and a solid Dows effort. Easy sipping on a hot night.

Opened one of the 4 DelaForce 20 year olds I bought the other week ($25 USD ea.)

Raisin, caramel nose. Major upfront and extended heat makes it hard to discern toffee/caramel flavors...

This is chilled, but it will hopefully behave itself in the next day or two. The heat really lingers.

Just curious, is there a bottling date (year) on the bottle?

Opened one each of Andresen 20 yr and Andresen 1992 Colheita. :winepour:

The 20 yr appears noticeably richer in the mouth than the 1992.

At $28 the 1992 seems great value, the finish is wonderful and lingers long.

However, at $40 the 20 Yr beats it... not only the finish is as great, as it seems better rounded in general.

Did find myself a little "tired" at the end of sipping 3-4 small glasses of the two, something that w the Ferreira 20 Yr I never experienced.

Have way too many open bottles now... will prob not be posting much in this thread for a while... need to get through them!
