A 1977 Sandeman's VP at the end of a long evening. I thought it was better when I had a sip after decanting it at about 4:30 in the afternoon. Still, it was nice enough though not earth shattering.

Starting to drink through mine as no one seems willing to take them off my hands and I have little desire to cellar them for the next 30 years.
It is full of berries and a pleasure to drink. Still comes across v young though not "thick" from all the fruit anymore.

Graham's 10 year old tawny. (I just started exploring the world of port, any recommendations on good but not very expensive ports are welcome. I like tawny's the most.)

I'm from Finland and not so sure about the prices in your part of the world. However, I think that Dow´s 10 YO, Smith Woodhouse 10 YO, Kopke 20 YO and Burmester 20 YO have a decent price-quality ratio. Also Offley Colheita 1997, while older than 10 YOs costs here about the same as a 10 YO.

Niepoort makes a great 10-yr old, but it's a little more expensive. Probably $5-$10 more in the US.
Sandeman's 20-yr old is excellent, and it can often be found for $40-$45.

Am not sure where you live, but in the US I would recommend you trying the Ferreira 10 Year Old ($20-25) and the Ferreira 20 Year old ($45-55).
My favorite 20 YOs are Ferreira, Andresen and Kopke. Ferreira tends to be the priciest but not by much. Find that I much prefer the 20s than the 10s, despite the price increase. As in, would rather have a half-pour of a 20 YO than a full pour of a 10 YO.

It was bottled in 2005 and had clearly lost a bit of freshness, although on the palate I found the mix of dried fruits and nuts to be very tasty. Style wise it was a very elegant, well crafted wine. I hardly ever drink 10 Year old tawnies, but if I do see some more of these I'll be sure to pick up some additional bottles...always need more cellar defenders!

Flu is gone and I opened a Trader Joe's impulse buy for $13. Warre's Warrior. It has a very nice new looking label, capsule, and bottle. Much better than the old horse head, which I wasn't a fan of.
