Yes, I realize that with the quantity of Forumites who will be coming along on this year's Port Harvest Tour, that it would be crazy to do the offering until you are all back safe and sound and sated.

And don't forget Forumites who choose to spend some of their port vouchers on a new TV instead of port or Madeira...

Mr. B. of course I agree with you, but we can't help if someone's priorities are wrong.
Let's see ... 2-3 new cases of Port ... or a new TV? Seems like an easy decision, eh?

No no no... you should buy the 2-3 cases of Vintage Port, and then bring a bottle with you to Seattle when you want to watch something on my big screen TV.
Win-win!

Glenn,
That's the best idea I've heard of in a long time. Then again, I've heard a lot of bad ideas lately being down in Puyallup everyday.

None of this would probably happen until Oct. at the earliest and November is more than likely.
Well, October is almost over and November starts next week. Is there any news on the buying op? I'm itching to spend some money on madeira.

Gary,
The guy I've been discussing this with months ago, has now been dodging my emails. I am going to see if I can track down a phone number to play this forward. I really want to make this happen. If not, I may have to do a quick change up, but that would eliminate my ability to have this work for ALL countries. Give me a week.

Working it tomorrow. Have a group interested and put forth the half dozen items I think you'd all be thrilled to be able to buy into!

I am sorry to do this, but this will only be for subscribers, and not open to all. Then again, most here are subscribers (on the Forum) so that probably is not an issue for those of you that participate/lurk here.
I have asked if there's a way to do this for the UK/EU at the same time, but still not sure if that will be possible. WIll report back findings here. Please know that I will not be able to mention the importer/producer we will be working with in this thread. It WILL appear in the next newsletter if this all works out, which it should.

The "deal" is basically done. Now we're discussing pricing and finalizing logistics to simplify things as much as possible for the supplier and especially our subscribers, including the ability for them to store wines during the cold winter months. This will appear in the late Nov. newsletter and be available for purchase the first full week of Dec. Details to follow.
Working on the Madeira component for the UK and beyond, too. Not sure if that is going to happen, but at this moment ... the chances are at least 50/50.

Does this mean there is a definite Madeira component for the US?

If all goes according to plan, there will be 3 items that are Madeira, plus 3 others.

Barry,
I am not sure what you are looking for but since this is for subscribers it will appear in the newsletter that will be out right after turkey day.
Details will be there for those that are subscribers like yourself. I never post them here on the Forum as it would be cruel to make non-subscribers cry!
