Is there a difference? I think so, but it's difficult to separate a psychosomatic difference (because I think there's a difference) from a real difference. So I give in to my mind and use Riedel Vinum glasses all the time when I can.
This pretty much describes my feelings as well.

I definitely like the feel of my Riedel Vinums better than the cheap $3 glasses we bought by the case for tastings from Marjorie Lumm. I also have a Riedel Sommelier and I like it even better, but it's so thin and light that I'm afraid to use it for anything other than special occasions. (I actually have two because there are two different styles of Port glass in the Riedel Sommelier line - Vintage Port and Tawny Port. No, really.)

But I don't think my palate is sophisticated enough to be able to notice a difference in taste. Aroma, maybe, but I would assume the difference there would be intensity.
