Tom,

I would really like to participate. I am going to be down in So. CA for a wine judging in early March. Could do Feb. 28th (p.m.) and March 1st (Sat.) but on Sunday will be waking up and judging. Otherwise, Feb. - mid-April is pretty much booked for me, my craziest travel time of the year. Late Jan. could work. Up to you and Andy though and others who have already said yes. That being said, if timing works, I am there.

Speaking only for myself, I would have no problem with either or both of those dates. Any excuse to get away from Wisconsin and come to So Cal during winter...

The majority of Feb and March are open for me at the moment.

I agree with Tom. I too much prefer small tastings, especially for tastings like this. I agree 10 is a good upper limit.

Feb is fine for me, but March has the annual ACPT tasting in NYC the second weekend (7-9). March 1st or 2nd should be okay though.

Okay, let's try it this time for real:

The tentative date(s) are February 28 and/or March 1.

Right now, I think we've got Andy, Glenn, Tom and possibly Roy. WHO ELSE CAN COMMIT to those dates?

Lots of other planning to do and travel to arrange, so the quicker we can set the date, the better...

Airfares look good. I'd give it 75% odds. Pick a date and I'll check again and confirm with my social director.

I guess my '68 and the 2000 VVV are my more unique contributions, and the 2000 is probably too young. I'll save the '68 for now.

Where would this offline be held? What dates? What airports should I check on? I don't have much for older Taylor, but could source what I need or just pay my share...

Moses, I'm assuming Los Angeles area if Andy hosts.

Tentative dates 2/28 and/or 3/1, which also seem our best chance of having Roy in attendance.

Slight preference for 3/1 for me as I would probably try to fly down after work on 2/28. Otherwise looks great! My only possible contribution would be a 1970 so it might be best if I just adopt.

Those dates work for me although, like Glenn, March 1 would probably be my preference.

March 1 works for me.

And yes I can host.

Okay, March 1st it is. I'll rework the original post. Andy, can we impose on you for 2 sessions, or should we scale this for just one?

I'm good with march 1st. I could contribute a '66, '83, '85, '91, '94, '95 or '00. Let me know if I should adopt or not, I know there's not much tough to find in there

Actually, do have an '88 as well, if the relative rarity outweighs the meh year.

I probably can't do a session on Sunday due to needing to fly home. Friday night might work, but would be tight. Or are you thinking of two sessions on Saturday?

The split Saturday session could be nice, a pre and post meal session, it's worked nicely at tastings (port and otherwise) I've been at in the past. That is, if our host could stand us that long....

We could start earlier in the afternoon. Do one session break for dinner (fire up BBQ, etc) then come back for round two.

If people wanted to do an informal gathering on Friday night with some random whatever ports also works.

I'm still trying to figure out whether those dates work for me. I'll let you know soon.
