It seems Mother Nature has given the region a reprieve, which favors the Broncos. I am picking them to win today, but hope to be pleasantly disappointed.

For what it may be worth, I will be enjoying 2002 Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Riesling Clos Windsbuhl, more than less if the Hawks prevail.

I have 5 bottles of Madeira open and at the ready today. Then again, my wife is making chili for the game, so it might be beer and chili early on, unless I try a Douro wine with her chili. [foilhat.gif]

Haven't changed my view of this game. Love to see Seattle win (of course), but would put my money on the Broncos if betting.

I'm in agreement with Ray and Roy. The weather isn't helping Seattle, so my confidence is low. I'll scream myself hoarse cheering for the Seahawks, but if I were betting on the game I'd be taking the Broncos to win. :(

Gotta agree with the Fox commentator on one thing, the singing of The Star Spangled Banner by Renee Fleming was breathtaking!

22-0 ... Don't get cocky Seattle fans. Denver can score in a hurry and in bunches. Still, I am loving the tenacity of the Seahawks, early and often! Nobody saw this coming.

I don't think it's a stretch to say the Broncos were nervous on their first play from scrimmage. It's good to see Percy Harvin playing well too. As for the 22-0 score, well... [shok.gif]

PS: The Z-H Riesling Clos Windsbuhl has wonderful floral and peach aromas, with opulent flavor, lively acidity and a pleasant chalkiness. Rated excellent, not classic. Love it.

A friend came over and brought a really great wine from his country: Turkey.

Can someone please explain when it is 22-0 and Denver had an easy "gimme" FG that they wouldn't want to have a 100% guarantee of going into the locker room with those 3 points under their belt? That at least keeps it to a 3 vs. 4 score game. My brother in Golden, CO is apoplectic at the moment. This is far from over ... Manning is as dangerous as it gets when looking at QB's however, It will be something of an all time worst performance for Seattle to fall apart and that's not really part of their makeup this year. Looking forward to this becoming a better game, as I hate one sided SB games.

Not here, not now. [foilhat.gif]

Hey, Denver's D stepped up. Can the Bronco's possibly come back from a 29 point deficit? It won't be easy.

How big was that fumble ... jeez Denver fans must be crying in their beer. I "almost" feel bad for them. But not quite! :munch:

Glad that Denver scored 8 points. Maybe a semblance of an interesting 4th quarter :munch:

So, if you're from WA, what Port/Madeira are you opening to celebrate a Seahawks victory??

I am from NY. I live in WA, there enlies a fairly large distinction. Then again, I grew up and have been a lifelong Oakland Raiders fan, so always have hated Denver, our most bitter rival. Even the 2x I lived in CO. My brother lives there and we spoke many times during the game. I was not rubbing salt in the wound. This game cut deep enough. No reason for piling on. That said, living here, you can't ignore the local teams and I don't. I root for them anytime they play a team outside of my own faves.

I am glad to see the people of Seattle, thus far, appear to be celebrating, not rioting.

Huge mistake by Denver, and I called it at the time. It probably wouldn't have made a significant difference, but when they decided to go for it I said something to the effect of "they have to make this, because if they don't it will kill any possible chance they ever had of coming back." They failed and never got a spark for the rest of the game.

Have to say I didn't see this coming. I figured Peyton would get 3-4 TDs passing and so the real question was whether or not Seattle could keep up. As consolation, Peyton did set the record for most completions in a Super Bowl. ;)

I'm rarely this happy to have been wrong. :-)

Not sure that I agree with Malcolm Smith as MVP. This was truly a team effort and to me no one person stood out enough to get my vote. I lean toward Chancellor or Harvin, but it's possible I just didn't see Smith's plays other than the big pick-6. The thing is... Chancellor's INT to start the game really set the tone and he had several "presence" pass defences and run stops. Harvin seemed like he only played 4 plays, but they were all huge. If it were possible, the entire L.O.B. should have been MVP.

Malcolm Smith had one great play in each of the last two games, but I would have voted for Chancellor also - and I think Harvin's long runs and explosive speed gave the rest of the Hawks' offense more room to move.

Maybe I am being harsh, but Denver's lack of scoring today, after a historically prolific season, does not look good on the entire AFC.
