Todd there are TN's and TN's !
Gold medal for going the distance.

Just to say that I had the 97 Noval LBV about 8 months ago from half bottles and it was superb so don't give up on your initial impression.
Maybe vintage variation or just more time needed for the integration you seek.

I have found the 2000 to not hold up to the body weight and sophistication of the 1997. The tannins were more subdued and the in the face fruit of my 1997s haven't been found in the 2000 lbv. Granted I've had a case of 1997 and only a bottle of 2000 so far so time will tell.

I have one half case left of this 2000 Noval LBV, so hopefully we'll see some improvement as it lays around for a while in the basement.

Ray and Raj,

I had the '97 from a half bottle as well and found that it was not as good as the 2000 (at the time.) Maybe it was a bad bottle or poor storage conditions, but it didn't do the same for me as the 2000 did.

That being said, I'd like to find some 750s of the '97 and go to town on them in a side-by-side with the 2000. :D
