Alex R.

Good to read your TN on the combo and specifically the 10 yo Madeira. As much as I like that combo too, (my brother just bought a case of it for that purpose and for sipping this coming winter) I must admit that I typically have a bottle of this open around the house all the time.

What I'd really like to know is when you have a chance to try this wine on its own ... w/out a cigar, what is your impression. Better, worse, the same ... different but ... etc.? Thanks!

Alex,

Very nice! i sent you an email...let me know when we can get together again for some simple drinking fun again. Nothing fancy, but I got a "Madeira" for you to try

Roy,

I've drank with Alex on several occasions now and Alex has a pretty darn good palate even though he doesn't post a lot of TN's (Sorry Alex, just trying to force a few TN's out of you    )

Earlier in the week Alex R swung by the casa and he brought some Cuban cigars. We had the cigars with a bottle of V'Sattui "Madeira" from Napa that I bagged and served blind. The pairing was very good and I must say that cigar was quite a treat. I don't recall what type of cigar it was, so hopefully Alex can chime in and help me remember.

Thanks again Alex.
