A few days ago my credit card was lightened of the non-trivial cost. See you there.

Hi Julian,
It will be great to finally put a face to the name. I am looking forward to meeting you!
The last time I checked we had 18 individuals for the tasting. It should be a lot of fun! This will almost be like an FTLOP offline. Do we really want to do this blind (tasting)?
See you in a couple of days.
If not blind, this might help.

If not blind,
this might help. Either blind or sighted works for me.
Edit: will the bottles be decanted in good time?

This is not within my direct control although I have reached out to the folks at Acker to discuss this and will be speaking to them again to provide more detailed info.
The blindness, or the decanting time?

“This”? The blindness, or the decanting time? If the latter, please speak very firmly to them.

Yes the decant time. I will provide specific times at which the Ports should be decanted. The impression I got by email was that they don't have a ton of decanters to leave all of the Ports sitting individually. But I will speak with them tomorrow when I arrive in NYC.

I believe there are either 18 or 19 of us and many from this Forum. I discussed in great detail, the decanting regimen to be employed.
As to blind vs. non-blind, I came up with a happy compromise. Everyone will be told the vintage but not which producer.
See you all tomorrow. I arrived with my daughter today and hey, all of our luggage was at JFK as well. Amazing ... praise the lord!
I’ll bring my own, to help me.

In which case
this will be useful. I’ll bring my own, to help me.

What a great treat to meet Julian Wiseman (finally!) and Paulo Barbosa too. Additionally it was my distinct pleasure to have Eric and Marco also join in the fun and add their valuable commentary.
I had a blast and got so into the evening, I let tasting notes go by the way side. There was plenty of interesting Q&A and I wish I had not spent so much time on the background of each company which only the true Port lovers found fun.
It was great to have a handful of Forum posters show up!

Sounds like a great time! I wish I could have been there.
