Well as of today, Canada has two provinces that are seemingly on board. Tomorrow we look at pricing, but I am confident that BC and Alberta will be a done deal and moving forward, this Port and Douro shipper will now have a presence in key markets in North America. :salute:

Between the Madeira up for auction at Zachys, Christie's, and Christie's online auction, I was raring to go this weekend. But then my schedule changed, life happened, and with each instance, I couldn't make any of the live auctions. In fact, in each instance, I just missed seeing the lots I was interested in.

But you know what... I think it's a sign... A sign I should stop drinking? Heavens, no. A sign that a) I would have spent more than I wanted; and therefore, more importantly, b) I wouldn't have saved enough for Roy's upcoming offering.

Look out, Roy, here I (we) come!
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks guys. If all goes well ... the newsletter will be sent out as planned, tomorrow night.

I will be fully transparent here: The hold up at the moment is Canada. Both provinces are being difficult. IF I have to launch without Canada, I will do so but would be very sorry for that to happen.

I've given the importer there a deadline of tomorrow at noon to get me the info I've required. It is not the importer ... who has been working day and night to make this happen. It is the two retailers that we MUST go through because in Canada, it is NOT possible to go more direct than that.

In the USA ... I've cut out 2 of 3 tier and had the importer slash their margins to get this to be the fantastic opPORTunity for American subscribers.

However, my focus from the start has also been to get this one done in Europe two. Now adding one new country there, we have 22 countries on board in Europe. So I am thrilled how this will work for our European community. The vast list of countries willing to participate is really impressive. Anyway, I am working day and night on this and it has been all consuming to make this happen and it all comes to be, 30 hours from now.

Back to final edits and more tasting notes today. I feel like I have badly neglected our Forum, but hope you'll all understand and when you read this that you will all see it was worth the wait. EU/US pricing did turn out everything I had hoped it would. [notworthy.gif]

See you on the other side. :salute:

Anyone ever notice there are not page numbers in the newsletter? The table of contents has numbers, but the pages themselves do not.

Haha I did notice that too. Fortunately was able to find the offer anyway. And Roy, you've truly outdone yourself with this one. A huge thank you!

No posting prices guys, just between us :ftlop2014: 'ers

Crazy good insane prices, trust me on that one. I've had most of these wines/Ports several times (or more) over the years and they rock. I am so glad to finally be able to easily get them here in the States and will be able to refill the cellar when I drink them down at a later date. This is a producer many of us here at FTLOP have known for a long time. Besides being a great guy he makes awesome juice.

I am super-excited having read over and over about their TWAIOA and never seeing one offered in the USA....now I get a chance. I plan to get at lease two "sets" (10-20-30-40)...make a great tasting.

I've never had a chance to taste any of this so thanks to all of you who've written reviews over the years - and of course to Roy for making this happen!

I thought about full verticals on the Tawny ports but life is too short to not drink the best you can so I skipped the 10, only grabbed one 20 and went heavier on the 30-60 skipping the 100 because it was big $$$ and the 30/40 were clearly the QPR winners.

My final order:
2003 Rio Bom Touriga Franca 1
2004 Rio Bom Grande Reserva 2
2005 Rio Bom Reserva 1
S. Leonardo 20 Year Old 1
S. Leonardo 30 Year Old 3
S. Leonardo 40 Year Old 2
S. Leonardo Old Tawny Port "60" 2

If you incorporate fluctuations in the Euro relative to the Dollar, his prices don't appear to have changed in what, like 10 years? Crazy prices!

I'm just trying to figure out how much strain I can put on the checkbook right now! [help.gif] Won't be hard to get a case... the hard part will be figuring out the mix of bottles that go into that case!

(Something tells me that a case of the "100" isn't in the cards... LOL)

Yes, my wallet is straining ATM as well, as is my cellar. I wasn't going to buy anything else for a while (like a year) but this is too good to pass up. I'll be in for probably 1.5-2 cases. Combo of wine and Port (Guys, his wines rock too so don't forget those).

Anyone getting the 100 year Port? I want to but right now that is not in my budget

Seriously the 10 year tawny is one of the best I've had. Maybe one or two others I can think of reach this level of a 10 year tawny

I'll be getting at least one. Probably two. Wish I could get three.

Probably 4 x 60. Then some 30 and 40 to replenish stocks and fill out the case. I don't even want to do the math.
