Noval and Passadouro did declare, I tasted the wines this week. Noval was showing better, both are not showing the concentration of classic year but I liked them very much and both deserved to be declared.

I've tasted both as well and agree.

Same here. They could pass for very solid LBVs, but as SQVPs they are still good, considering the vintage was problematic.

Thanks for the news, updated the list.

It surprises me how many houses declared 2014.

I can't comment on prices in Brazil. But while I love Noval, I must say they have the highest markup of any producer I've seen at their shop in VNdG and at the quinta. Maybe it can be found elsewhere for less.

I agree Eric, I want to have a discussion with them about this, it changed 3 years ago or so, now beside a souvenir there is no reason to buy anything there if you know a little about Port.

This is from the 29th of August 2016 from the Quinta do Noval lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Those prices are pretty outrageous. [beg.gif]

Yikes! The 40-yr old price isn't bad, but the rest seem pretty crazy!

I didn't know they made a 1999 Marco. I thought the mid 80's was the last.

I have a bottle of the Quinta do you Noval 2014 sitting right in front of me at the moment. I will be tasting it sometime next week and will be writing about it soon.

1994 Quinto do Noval Nacional for euro 2540 is about US$ 2791. Benchmark Wine Group has it for $975. The average price on wine-searcher is $1748. I would not expect the shop price to be a 50% markup from the worldwide average. I understand if they don't want to be the cheapest option, but nearly 3x the cost of a respected retailer seems absurd to me.

It does seem a bit excessive. Also the 1997 being up there with the 1994 is at least food for thought.

Might not seem like such a bad idea to snag up a 2011 Nacional at 399 Euro or two.

Chasing labels?

Why not purchase the 2011 Noval instead? You could have a six-pack for the same price as one Nacional.

Well, since you mention it ... I already purchased a six pack of 2011 Noval at US$ 75 per bottle. The Noval lodge price is 200 euros each.
