It does occur to me that the winter is actually much drier here as far as relative humidity goes, so that gives me a target to get something built. We've also had an unusually wet late spring and summer this year, to the benefit of my Port. Above 65% relative humidity this morning in the basement!

When reading Eric's response, I wondered if he was using a swamp cooler in his cellar to chill his beer and wine. It is almost unfathomable for me to believe that the RH in his area of CO wouldn't be closer to 30-40% or less. I now have to check with my brother to see what his cellar is at. Hmmm.

Roy, we have had a much wetter summer and spring this year than I am used to. It finally got a bit drier in the last two days and the hygrometer dropped to about 57-58%.
Just picked up a new oak wine rack from craigslist:

What's nice about this is that it is modular. When I do build my walk-in I can buy more (already found a source online, although it is many times more expensive than craigslist :? ) and configure it to fit the space.
