This section is for those who have basics questions about, or are new to, Port. There are no "dumb" questions here - just those wanting to learn more!

Andy,

(CORNY ALERT)-->If only that 1994 Vesuvio had been properly decanted, perhaps my offending words I would have already recanted. Instead, I am left with a fate that is far from enchanted...

Away to the gallows I go! :salute:

Remember this thread?

I've now managed (only once) to taste the Noval '67 and it was a very good wine, maybe slightly edging over the '66.

My next mainstream target is to try the Smith Woodhouse 1963 VP. I was born in '63 and have always enjoyed drinking the ports made from grapes that are as old as I am. I've tried many of the wines declared from that vintage including all of the other ones currently owned by the Symington Family, but I have never even seen, let alone tried, the SW '63.

(So if anyone knows where I might be able to find a bottle - or even a glass - please let me know!)

Great thread. For me it would be a Niepoort Garrafeira Port, any year really. Never had one and very curious about this style.

Still never had a 1997 Noval VP. The last great or highly rated "modern" VP I've yet to have.

Would love to try a few older Ramos Pinto vintages like 1945 or something from the 50's. 1970 is the oldest I have had.

You should have said something while you were up here Andy. I'd be happy to open one for you. [friends.gif]

Right now it is to re-try the Sandeman 2007. Have been thinking about it constantly since i was absolutely floored by a small sample i had a couple of weeks ago....was it really that good, or was i just swept away in the moment? I don't know, but would love to give it another go to find out - this time armed with a proper full glass (or two) to really get into it!

Other than that, it would be great to try the 77 Cockburn some day.
