Almost a year since I last tried it, a good wine but now having the same qualities as 2001,2003,2005 I've taste this year also.

Balance, complexity, depth, lenght. The 2000 was tasting like a drying out wine. Still good, but simple, overripe fruit drying out, short and acidic on the finish. It reminded me a lot of those 95,96 rustic fruit bombs made in the Douro. I had bought my bottle at the Graham's lodge. Fortunately, recent vintage are way better!

Thanks, Looks like I'll drink it sooner rather than later.

Quinta de Macedos 2005,

Actually managed to get some Magnums as well, sadly will be many years before I will try them! The Quinta is owned by Paul Reynolds who has taken over a wonderful old vineyard and is living the dream many of us wish we could. If you get the chance to try this well worth it!

12 x 750 of Quinta de la Rosa 2005 Reserva. I love this wine and believe it may even be better than the stunning 2004 version. Hard to come by though. [shrug.gif]

Yeap, at $60/bottle it was worth the punt. I put in the lowest bid I could so I guess no one else bid on them.

We found a single bottle of 2007 Prazo de Roriz and opened it last night. I'd never heard of it before and wasn't even aware that Quinta de Roriz makes dry wines, but everyone else really like it and said it went really well with the boeuf bourguignon.
