Sounds like a great tasting.

I only recall tasting one Malvedos and that was a 1965, back in about the early 90s. Expecting it to be well developed the tasters collectively decided to decant it just before dinner, about 3-4 hours before drinking. Well, that was a mistake. The Malvedos was still tight, quite dry for a Graham's, and needed plenty more time for the spiritiness to wear off.

Wouldn't know how the '65 is doing now but judging by what is being said of the '64, '58,and '57, it might still be alive.

Cheers.................Mahmoud.

Yes, it was a wonderful tasting and the 1965 is still holding up, along with others from the same time period.

Having had the privilege of attending, I can only echo what has been said, that the wines showed a generally great consistency. My wine of the night was the 1986 Malvedos, with all of the Malvedos from the 1980's showing extremely well.

As a child of 1970, I was also pleased to find the 1970 Graham's as my favourite vintage!

Alex and all who attended, I am sorry to hear that some of the bottles did not show well. It seems in all these big tastings on either side of the pond, that always happens somewhere in the midst of the tasting or event. Glad that so many of the bottles DID show beautifully and am looking forward to reading Andy's full report.
