1980 Tuke Holdsworth for this evening's celebration. Likely just a glass each after two other bottles, but that will give me a chance to see how it opens up tomorrow too.

Grahams (bottled 2002) Crusted Port; and i must say very drinkable for under $22 i paid for it!
Crusted Port, i Believe, doesn't get the limelight it deserves given the amount of LBV drunk (i'm as guilty as the next person!!!), but these young ports mixed together seem to be greater than the sum of their parts in this bottle.
Congrats on the new job!!

Thanks - just got to wait another 3 weeks for the first pay check! Maybe some port will get purchased then (after bills of course!!)
So I was given a tax refund in my first pay packet to make up for my lack of income over the last half of 2014 - so;
Taylors 2001 Vargellas (SQ)VP was purchased and has just been opened

1984 Kopke Colheita, bottled 2013, 375ml. Enjoying this out on our deck on an unusual 67°F Colorado January day with a Cuban.

A celebratory and preparatory GC85. The cork is nearly clean, though, so I'm worried that it has been stored upright for most of its life. So far, so good though. Looks and smells fine.

Or the Sym's recorked it before sending it out as a late release, which they are doing with their older stocks.

It's showing really well, so that's probably the answer. Even so, it's a REALLY clean cork.
This was one of the ones I ordered from WTSO, btw. I have a different bottle slated for the tasting this weekend, but this one is showing so nicely that I may decide to open another WTSO bottle instead.

I opened a Fonseca 1992 on Monday - deep and dark but nice and tasty. Good port.

Opend an old Taylor Tawny last night. Nothing to talk about. But I just decanted this old Tawny from Real Vinicola.
Whao....although the cork was floating in the bottle, the Port is really great....Dark Brown and the taste is just both round and deep.

Was the capsule the only thing sealing it? If so I've only seen that happen once with an old bottle of Bordeaux I was given.
