Dow's Trademark Finest Reserve Ruby, my first time.

my friend and i were surprised at how light bodied it was. we both prefer full bodied. it was also very sweet and we didn't notice much beyond that.
i felt the same way when i had Dow's Boardroom Reserve Tawny. though i liked this Reserve Ruby better, it was a little less sweet and a little fuller bodied.

we're going to try their 2008 LBV soon, i hope it won't also be disappointing.

A surprisingly good Dalva.

The cork vaporised as it slowly came out of the bottle.
I don't know anything about it. But if I was tasted blind, i would have guessed a 70 year old Colheita from a top Porthouse.
I am Allways happy, when one of my "lucky bottles" turns out to be outstanding.

I won two bottles of this at auction about a year ago. The first one was OK (tasted June 2015)--nothing special. Last nights was a different story. Lovely mashed red fruit aroma with hint of white pepper.
Moderate weight, faded strawberry finishing with a fig and leather note that lingers. Tasted more like a VP than an LBV.

1997 Niepoort VP, in 750. A little VA when decanted, but I didn't notice it several hours later when consumed.

The VA just ruins what is otherwise a fantastic VP :(

No VA, very good, perhaps excellent. I might write up a TN for that one.

1966 Taylor. A few drops on the cellar floor put this on death row, and a glorious death it was.

A T27 opened at my brother's house last night, absolutely perfect condition, excellent colour and still very slightly tannic, with a hint of blue-green on the meniscus. Port doesn't get much better than this!
