I only started drinking Port in a more regular basis a couple of years ago. So, I'll list the additions I've made this year to my cellar (as I normally only purchase port when I go to Portugal):

- Dow's vintage 2011 4x;
- Grahams vintage 2011;
- Taylor's vintage 2011;
- Warre's vintage 2011;
- Quinta do Noval vintage 2009;
- Casa Sta Eufemia vintage 2003;
- Churchill's vintage 1994;
- Grahams Quinta dos Malvedos 2001;
- Quinta do Noval Silval 2001;
- Burmester 20 Y tawny;
- Quinta do Noval 20 Y tawny;
- Quinta da Devesa 20 Y tawny;
- Quinta de la Rosa 10 Y tawny;
- Poças 10 Y tawny;
- Fonseca 10Y tawny;
- Taylor's 10 Y tawny;
- Martinez 10 Y tawny;
- Fonseca LBV 2006.

It's a blend of things for the future (2011 vintages) and a lot of things to drink right now.

On my next visit to Portugal I'll try to focus on older vintage and colheitas (looking particularly for the Dow's 1974 Colheita - my age!).

Regards

1922 Tuke Holdsworth Vintage Port, a Whitwham bottling, fill looks fantastic and I know the original owner who bought this in the 1940s and wanted to sell this to me. So I couldn't say no. He is getting too old to drink Ports any more and may put them all up at auction. This should be interesting!

The only one of these I've ever tried was corked. Fancy saving that for when I can be with you to try it? Please?

Al B.,

I've put a sticky note on the bottle. Also, please remind me the next time you know we will be together and I'd be happy to bring and share it with you.

On a more serious note, might there be a chance this person would be willing to sell direct to interested parties (like FTLOP people), instead of giving the auction house 20+%? I do understand that the auction route is a less hassle. If that happens, can you point us to the auction?

That's a great idea!

I just bought 4 bottles of 1983 Ramos Pinto vintage at a bargain. Count me as being pretty stoked right now. [yahoo.gif]

Warre's VP 2011;
Warre's VP 2007;
Warre's SQVP Quinta da Cavadinha 1996; and
Warre's Warrior.

Apparently Warre's changed its importer in Brazil and the old one did a 60% off sale. :D

- Quarles Harris 1977 VP (6x, shared a case of 12 with my uncle)

- Quinta do Noval 1973 LBV bottled 1979 (2x, finally a bottle of port (or any wine for that matter) from my birthyear [yahoo.gif] ). Hope that it will be still drinkable [cheers.gif] .

- Tait's 1937 old port (1x, a gamble, no idea what it is exactly) with a t-stopper. Don't know when this was bottled.

Will post some pics after this, maybe someone can shed some light on what the 1937 is .... :thanks:

Well, I think that 1937 will be a fun gamble. I think you have a very old colheita with a lot more bottle age than cask age. I'm going to guess bottled in the early 1950s.
