Tonight is all about: "Lose the Blues" with 3 great bottles,

2003 Quinta do Noval compared to a decades older 1963 Quinta do Noval Nacional

Followed by a 1850 Verdelho, but that is a Madeira and will be mentioned in the thread on that part of the Forum.

1966 Grahams VP on Friday. Since the election was still not fully counted, I had room to get in one more port! Pour directly into a decanter and closed it off. Been working on it all weekend and will finish it off tonight. Was surprised how well it held up over the weekend. Last night was sublime, so smooth even though there was some heat on it.

1999 Sandeman's 'Vau Vintage' port - a double decant at home to get it off the sediment and consumed many hours later. This particular bottle is quite mature and seems suggest that at 17 years it is time to drink them.

Mahmoud.

1963 Fonseca. From a leaker with a high shoulder fill. Still OK and needing air.

10 Year Old Ferreira White Port
1992 Delaforce Vintage Port
2003 Kopke White Colheita Port
20 Year Old Ferreira Duque de Braganca Tawny Port

2 friends came over and we were only supposed to drink the Delaforce. Things turned out differently and I had to open the Kopke as well.

Fun tip. Try and have your tipsy friends do a review of a port on camera. Funny things will happen.

1997 Quinta do Passadouro VP. Smooth elegant, lasting finish. Poured into capped decanter the previous night. Better than expected.

Was disappointed in the '94 I had at the FTLOP retrospective, as it was flawed. Glad to hear the '97 was enjoyable, as the story of the estate is plenty attractive.

Have some leftover '82 Kopke Colheita from Thanksgiving along with a Broadbent 10 Madeira in the kitchen. Picked up a Dow 10 for $12 so I doubt that'll even make it to the cellar.

Found a 2011 Taylors LBV at my local Trader Joe's today. It's now open and in my glass. A nice LBV so far. TN to follow.
