3x Barros Tawny Port 100th Anniversary
I was outbid on 1968 Taylor Quinta de Vargellas. That's my birthyear, but it turns out the bottles were in Hong Kong, so I'm not too disappointed to miss out.

a bit of a guess at a fair price.. a lot of
2x Butler Nephew 1975 VP in good very condition.
4x Butler Nephew old tawny. 2 different labels and they both mention the number 305. i would like to know what that means.. there is no year indicated but they were bottled over 40 years ago. the older looking yellow-ish label bottles don't have a selo and i think they are bottled in Belgium. no T-stoppers on any of them.
the tawnies also look very pale. as i'm not a tawny drinker i wonder what to do with these..

Been away for a while but the recent NYC Vesuvio Vertical brought my Port appetite back
Over the last couple weeks got
- 5 x 1985 Warre VP
- 5 x Taylor 1977 VP
- 3 x Graham 1970 VP
- 2 x Taylor 1970 VP
- 1 x 1.5L Fonseca 1970 VP
Got some of these at prices clearly lower than past auction prices on WMJ...
Are you getting the sense that port auction prices are going lower of late?

With some clear exceptions for very special Ports, I have seen prices soften a little. I don’t know whether this is a long term trend or just a short term blip.

This is also the time of year when Port purchases decrease. It's not cold out anymore and some people are stressing over their taxes.

That's smart, certainly could be!
Got a few more this past weekend, close to/at opening.
5 x 1977 Dow VP
1 x 1977 Fonseca VP
3 x 1975 Fonseca VP
1 x 1970 Dow VP
2 x 1970 Warre VP
1 x 1970 Taylor VP
2 x 1970 Fonseca VP
1 x 1963 Graham VP
Got these for shy of $80 per. All were mixed lots... may the 75 F be drinkable and the 77 D not be corked - have had a number of them that were.

Wow! Quite a haul. Nice work! Yes. Agreed on those. Actually I've had more than a few leakers with the 1977 Dow, but yes, my fair share of corked too.

2 x Taylor Fladgate Quinta de Vargellas 1987 - at a very good price.
I was at an off-site Sales meeting and I stopped at a local liquor store just to see what they might have. Their selection wasn't very big, but there they were just sitting there minding their own business. First time I've ever seen them at a store. I bought two and left one behind.

11x 1992 Fonseca VP, 375s
I always like to have some splits around, and I'm running low on my 1994 Warres 375s.
