Marc,
Nice! Wish my drinking has been as good as yours lately, with this home construction I'm now down to disposable cups, plates, and silverware. Not exactly conducive for drinking the finer Ports. But when it's done there will be an offline at the casa to celebrate

I'm looking forward to it!

Quinta do Vesuvio VP 1997.
I bought them some weeks ago and picked them up last friday on a weekend break in Antwerpen (Belgium).
After a very nice diner my husband had some cheese and we asked the sommelier if it was oke to open one of the bottles. Alas it was pop and pour, so there was a lot of spirit overwelming the fruit. But there was enough left for yesterday and today, and it showed much, much better!

1977 Ferreira. I have bunch of them and this has been the best one so far. Cork is soaked almost all the way through, but noting leaking through. A little cloudy, but tasting very similar to their tawny. Poured half immediately into a 375 ML bottle that we'll finish tonight.

Nice! One of these featured in a "Port from the Nineties" offline in London on Monday night and was very impressive. I opened a bottle of Quarles Harris 1997 as my contribution.

I was very impressed with this bottle and I'll be on the lookout to pick up a few more in the coming months. How was the 1997 Quarles Harris?

I've never met a 1994 I didn't like.

Last night was my last Quevedo Special Reserve Tawny Port. A lip smacking good bottle that I wish I had more of.

Very impressive - much better that I was expecting and was probably the second place wine of the night behind the Ramos Pinto 1994

I opened up a Warre's Otima 20 year old Tawny Port. First night it was good but not great, but I know that 2-3 days into the bottle, it winds up a bit better. I generally like this Tawny and for some reason a lot more than the 10 year old Otima which I've never been that fond of.

Had some Cockburn's 10 year Tawny with an EP Carrillo Short Run 2011 cigar.
So far one of the better 10 years I've tried.
The cigar was called a short run but it took me nearly 2 hours to finish! Definitely not disappointed that night.

A great reason to celebrate indeed.
Decanted a 1977 Warres at lunch time for consumption tonight. Smelled wonderful.

1997 Warre Vintage Port in a 375. The bottle looked like it might have been a leaker, but it turns out it was a leakee. The cork was pristine under the capsule with no signs of leakage at all.
Very nice juice, too!
