For the record, there is also a Port Harvest Tour 1 which is typically a little better suited for people who have never been on a deep-dive wine tour before. PHT2 can be daunting, even for those of us who have been a several of them. Roy and Mario get us into places that aren't open to the public, and we get to taste Ports that aren't for sale, but you'll likely taste around 150 Ports in 7 days... and then there's table wine on top of that!

I highly recommend the tours, but I would also recommend PHT1 your first time around. [cheers.gif]

Some great finds for me this week.
First a Vesuvio Vintage 1997. I already had one in the cellar so I will be able to take one now to see what it can give and the other will be open in about 10 years.
Then one of the best purchases I had the chance to make was the acquisition of 4 Dow Vintage 1994 for only $100 each bottle. I don't know about you but for me (in Quebec) it's quite a godsend! I also had one in the cellar (bought in 2015 at the same price) so a bottle will be opened during the holidays.

Nice finds and excellent price on the Dow '94, LOUISSS J!

I have 3 or 4 bottles of this in my cellar, but I haven't tried it yet. I want to give it another 3 or 4 years before I try the first one.
I pick them up when I see them on sale. It has an 89 average score on the forum in the Tasting Notes Database, which is pretty good for the price I find them at (usually about $18).

It was awesome meeting John. Was not expecting the 1994 Warre's VP half, thank you again John.

Picked up some great deals in three Jersey stores afterwards, Little Bros, NJWineseller GreenBrook, & Bottle Republic. I dug on wine-searcher for them and there is really a bonanza of ports in the region. We should all go Port shopping sometime, there is at least another dozen stores I didn't get to.
2011 Pocas LBV $22
2011 Presidential LBV $20
2015 Cockburn LBV $22
2015 Offley LBV $20
2015 Dow LBV $20
Graham's Six Grapes $19
Offley White Port $13
Reccua White Port $8
Conceito Barbeito $16 in PA

Also, at auction I picked up two of the 1994 Vesuvio VP that some of you have said good things about. $44each+bp.
And one 2011 Taylor VP $50+bp.

That's great price for an awesome Port!

That and 1985 Fonseca are two Ports that I don't think it's possible to own too many of.

I'm glad you said that Glenn because I own A LOT of both (and even more of the '94 Fonseca).

Lucas. Where did you find the 2011 Pocas LBV? I had picked up a few bottles in Newark several months back. I opened one and it was really good. I've been trying to find more ever since.

That was at Little brothers in Flemington. The only bottle I bought there, they didn't have too many rare LBVs.

But there should be 7 2011 Pocas left:

They had a good selection of tawnies and Feuerheerd which surprised me as those weren't on the website.

Thanks Lucas. I'll have to get over there next week and pick up a few. You should pop yours open and see what you think, just give it a long decant.

I just received an auction lot that I won earlier when shipping wasn't advisable. I thought that I'd slightly over-paid for it, but because it was a birth year wine - and a pretty good one at that - I was satisfied.

Turns out, the auction lot was for 2x bottle. So I didn't over-pay at all, and instead got:

2 x 1964 Taylor Single Harvest Tawny

for (IIRC) $300. [yahoo.gif]

Isn't that the one I pointed you to, and pointed out that it was for two bottles?
