Seems like timing is good. Maybe I shouldn't have gotten so many euros last week! [shok.gif]

What did I say. Knock off all this rubbish talk about currency or I will be forced to take drastic measures. [bye2.gif]

Maybe the trick is ignoring Andy? So far, it has seemed to work ... for a few weeks now! [bye2.gif]

While I'd like the dollar to be stronger against the Euro for travel purposes, I think the hit on my stock portfolio due to the Greece uncertainty outweighs the exchange rate benefit.

Eric, over time that will bounce back too, just like the Euro at some point.

You must be loving this for the Madeira trip! Still I hope that things stabilize soon.

It is certainly a game changer in terms of what we will be able to bring back for our cellars. It is about time. I've been there when the Euro was 1.44 and that is painful and typically average around 1.35. I took a position on some Euros this week that will hold me through next year's first visit. I spoke with two importers who've done the same thing this week. So even if the Euro goes down to 1.20 I will have no regrets.

But in all honesty, I am most happy for those come along on the Fortification Tour; as they will have the opportunity to procure some Ports, Douro wines and Madeira that otherwise might have been unaffordable. I am sure there will be many filled shippers this time!

Now you've done it. You've gone over to the dark side, so of course now the Euro will rebound.

Glenn, have no fear, the Euro won't actually rebound until Andy steps foot on EU soil. [yahoo.gif]

Wow, I may have to buy a lot more Euros than I already have. This is getting wild. The types of Ports and Madeiras that will now seem affordable continues to improve.

The Euro has gone up two cents and may continue to rise. Rumor has it, the word is out that Andy will be arriving soon, so they are raising the tarrif now in preparation for his arrival.
