Hopefully you guys can confirm one way or the other ASAP, as we are officially FULL if you all attend. If not, we'll have room for more. I'll keep compiling names, if anyone else shows interest, and start a wait list.

Please take a look at that original post and think about the Port list. I'd like to definitely include every pre-1990 vintage we can get. Except for 1975, we seem to have all of those available back through 1945 (including all of the 1980's vintages which will come from that auction lot we just bought). Marc (or anyone else), if you are thinking about bringing anything older, let me know and I will very gladly add those as well.

So we are currently at 14 Taylor Vintage Ports, 1945-1988. I'm happy to taste anything younger that you guys are willing to bring, although it's your call, I don't feel a strong need to taste a ton of super-young VP's just to make for a bigger lineup. Even if we end up with just pre-1990 Taylor's, so maybe two sessions of 7 or 8 bottles each, that's still a hell of a tasting in my opinion with lots of time to enjoy each Port. For anyone who doesn't have any old stuff, I'm cool with working deals without getting too nitpicky about it, for me the whole point is just to share with people who love this stuff.

In any case, we are certainly looking at two sessions since Andy is willing. Once we finalize a list, I'll be happy to hear thoughts on how to break up the sessions.

Same for me (with the same caveat)!

Also, didn't read closely the first time, my '88 is actually a Vargellas, not a Terra Feita like the other '88 on offer. Could be cool to see them side by side.

Did you get my +1? He's got some really old and rare Taylors which would add greatly to the old end of the line up. He's also on here once in a while as well....when he's not playing with the kitty that is

I would recommend we cap this off at the 1992 Vintage. Much younger than that is probably not worth opening yet and that will keep things to a manageable level bottle wise (did I just say that lol).

I think I have a 1934 Taylors VP which I can add to the line up. Will also sort out something a little younger as well as needed to fill gaps.

We still need those who've committed to indicate what they can contribute.

By this evening, I'll try to update the OP, including the Ports that each person has mentioned possibly bringing...

Since we don't seem to have a '75 on offer, can I commit to coming up with one, as well as chipping in an '83 and '88 Vargellas?

Agreed. Although if someone wants to bring a 2011, it would be fun for those of us who haven't tasted it yet

I'm going to try to keep the original post up-to-date. Next to each participant's name, I tried to list the Taylor's they have already mentioned possibly bringing (including duplicates). Please correct any mistakes I've made, and keep those vintages coming. Once we have that list complete, we can figure out who should bring what...

On the list of Ports, please note the six bottles from the 1980's that were part of the TCWC auction lot, those were purchased expressly to be part of this event. They are available for anyone to purchase from me as part of their contribution, if you are short on Taylor's.

Andy, I don't think there was a 1934 Taylors VP. Could it be 1935? There was a special 1934 colheita bottling, but AFAIK Marc J has the only bottle around after I sold it to him recently.

Sorry about that, didn't read the post about the '80s correctly. I'll volunteer to pony up the '88 Vargellas, as that's not part of the auction lot, as well as a '75 and an '80, which I think we've left off as a full declaration for Taylor, since no one seems to have one of either.
