Very pleased you have re-emerged Marci. Chivalry is not dead, it just rarely appears on ANY wine bulletin boards. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Marci

Sorry to hear you were not feeling well but I am looking forward :?: to hearing the story of your Schipol nightmare - but more importantly about what you chose to buy!

Good morning guys

I thank you all (so far, Todd, Andy and Roy) for the warm welcoming and the tips!

That was not because I wanted to leave your name out, I was checked the posted replies before you posted yours and then I was writing an answer(which took quite a while because I was doing half a dozen other things at the same time) and when I submitted it, I saw you. I knew this would happen! :)

KillerB, thank you too for your fast and kind reply :D

And finally, a question. Did you make a mistake when you said your friend was born in 1982? Or did you mean that you would buy the 1982 Vintage Port in June? If you meant that you were going to buy the 1982 Vintage Port in June then I would strongly recommend that you use Winesearcher.com to search for the Niepoort 1982 in Holland to see if you can purchase a bottle quite easily.
Alex, Both your guess' were right, he's born in 1982 so I am looking for one from that year :)
For the record I was born in 1981 :D
Good taste might be something you develope over time (like good wine?), I on the other hand was born with it

Hei Ronald!
Thank you for the addresses, I am going to check some out on this Friday and the Saturday.

Roy,
I didn't get the XXXX part? Anyway, what's the deal now, are we supposed to call you the peanut butter guy from now on? What do you think Luc? Can I atleast call you by your new nick?

But overall, I had some good laughs reading your comments and enjoyed myself with all of your panic attacks :)

Yes, Derek, I'd marry you anytime, if I get your port collection when we seperate :)

ok, where were we?
Schiphol: I didn't get to go to the big tax free area because I was flying with a cheaper airline(sterling) and new regulations forbid the passangers to strowl around. I had the great luck (not) to experience their mini tax free store. Meaning, 2 ports, graham's six grapes and graham's crusted 2000. So I bought one bottle of the last. The six grapes was acctually 4-6 euros more than GALL&GALL (dutch liq. chain)!!!
Unbelievable.
And then I got to the tax free store on arrival at Oslo, they had perhaps 10 different bottles. Mostly Sandeman, 1xNiepoort, 1xBurmester, 2xKopke and 1 Graham's). The best one they had was a graham's vintage from 1997. This one was about 20 euros, The rest were all around 10 euros.
So I have decided to buy my port in NL before I travel to Oslo the next time.

All and all, I was very very dissapointed.

You see, guys, you just need to know how to talk to a woman. If you want any tips off-line just PM me.....and take note, the old guy can still pull 26 year old chicks

Now then, Marci, can I please have some written testimonial's on your cooking and cleaning skills and a photo before we seal the deal? (standard Internet Bride procedure  )

Lots of love

Derek

PS: I think we need a pre-nup agreement on that "I get the cellar" thing :?

The right end???

Is that like when I thought I was being funny, and told this Irish Navvy to examine a nearby tree and tell me which was the front and which was the back (of that tree). He walked around it, came back and pointed to what we could see, and said 'That'd be the front!' I smiled, and said, 'And how can you be sure thats the front?'
As quick as a flash, he replied ' Coz somenoe's had a crap round the back!'

Pure logic!
