Decanting a 2011 Quinta do Crasto LBV for tonight. First one I've had.

2005 Niepoort Colheita (B 2016) very nice young tawny
20 Yr. Ramos Pinto Tawny (B. 2004) getting a bit dusty which was a weird note in this. Still very good though, just different than a "fresh" bottle

Fonseca Bin 27. Still a great inexpensive QPR Port. I'm quit sure I've consumed more of this and Six Grapes than probably all other Port combined...or so I like to think

The previous discussion has reached a point it doesn't belong in this thread. I have now split it into it's own here

1992 Taylor
Despite a deep colour, very hollow and lacking complexity on day 1, better on day 2 but not very Taylor in character. An overrated wine. Something about this reminds me of the simplicity of varietal table wines - is this 100% TN I wonder?
Still scope for further maturation, score 5-7

Hmmm, sorry to hear that for us both. I have a few (perhaps luckily not many) in the cellar. I might need to try one instead of holding on to these for longer as planned.

That's disappointing to read. I've read a lot of good things about this Port. I have a few bottles of this as well, mostly halves. I've been holding off trying one because being Taylor I figured it wouldn't be ready yet. I may have to open one just to see what it's all about.

I've had this many times. In a 1992/1994 face off a couple of years ago the 1992 Taylor was by far the best wine. Better than 1994 Taylor and Fonseca... and a host of other 1994 VPs

1987 Souza VP. I was worried at first as there was an unpleasant musty aroma when I pulled the cork. Fortunately, this blew off in a few minutes and the Port was as good as previous showings.

I have quite a few halves of this Vintage. I was waiting to open, well … because it's Taylor. Now, it is next on my list to open.
