Had a rare afternoon off and enjoyed a few glasses of a delicate 1975 Cockburns VP while I caught up on some movie watching.

While these bottles were actually opened by the brother-in-law, I consider one of them to be a joint venture:

1890 Burmester Colheita (the jointly-owned bottle)
1963 Dalva Golden White Colheita
1952 Dalva Golden White Colheita

A very nice Labor Day afternoon, indeed! Thanks Marc and Laura!

Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas 1986, after a semi-blind (wine-)tasting at my house with some wine- and port-loving friends/family this weekend.

As crazy as this sounds, I poured about 4-5 ounces each of Taylor, Fonseca, Croft and Vargellas Vinha Velha from 2009, all together in equal parts after four days of evaluation of the separate bottlings. I then waited four more days before I had the chance to try this blend. I finished it last night, which was about two+ weeks after initially opening the bottles. Very delicious cuvee, that is for sure.

A bottle of Cockburn's Special Reserve, given to me by my team at work. Very pleasant juice - CSR is back on form!

1994 Martinez VP. I didn't take any notes, but seemed consistent with the last time I had it.

A minor personal emergency caused another of my £3 half-bottles of Croft 2004 LBV to be opened - and finished!

C. da Silva 1977 VP.
The label was in very bad condition, so I couldn't make out the vintage from the label. The cork mentioned 1977 VP though.
It seems (but I can't be sure) that this port has been bottled in 1980. The label only shows a visible '9' followed by what I make out to be part of an '8'. So this I figure means bottled in 1980 (it could of course also mean bottled in 1979 with a number or a letter following the '9').

Anyone had this VP before and/or can help me out to determine the year of bottling this one (I have one other bottle of this VP, but the label is in thesame poor condition)?? [help.gif]
