1992 Fonseca VP, 375 ml
This was an off bottle, with cooked/stewed flavors. If I had to score it, maybe 88 points. But I think it is better to just consider it off.

2007 Dalva White Colheita. Just an excellent white port. Crisp acidity and a sharp profile. Top notch.

Over the weekend I opened a bottle of Taylor 1970. It was one of the best bottles of T70 I have ever opened; it was just amazing.

Another 10 yr Graham tawny. My house tawny Port this summer. I keep a bottle chilled in the fridge, which is perfect for a glass or two in the evening when the mood strikes.

1994 Smith Woodhouse Colheita, bottled 2011. On the sweet side, but nice.

What would you guys recommend as decanting time for a half bottle of Fonseca vintage port 2003?

I would go with around 3-4 hours since it is half a bottle and it would evolve quicker than a regular bottle. In a normal size I'd go for 4-6 hours. It is a great wine. Hope it is not in a slumbering state and shows well for you.

It's a beast, so for me it needs a long decant. This is especially true if it hasn't emerged from its "terrible teens" slumber yet, and I don't have that answer for you. So for a full bottle I'd recommend a good 8-12 hours depending on how you plan to drink it. For a half bottle I'd drop that a bit... maybe 6-8 hours?

If you plan to drink it quickly then it needs more decant time because it won't have time to open up over the course of the tasting. But if you'll be drinking it slowly over several hours, then a shorter decant may be appropriate so that you can experience it as it evolves during the tasting.

Over the years I've been somewhat disappointed with this wine, but VERY happy to see this note. I have quite a few to consume.

1999 Ferreira LBV. I am amazed how dark this port still is and full of life. It really holds up to a few days open quite well. High quality spirit and has a long life ahead.

1980 Warres VP, in a 375ml it was quite developed. But I was still able to enjoy it in Buffalo Peaks Wilderness thanks to the Platy.

My house Port seems to have turned into Quinta das Lamelas 10 year old white. I can’t stop drinking it chilled from the fridge after a hard days gardening in the heat.

But today is much colder and wetter - so it was a bottle of Delaforce 1963.

I also have the fun task of going through my entire wine cellar over the next 2 weeks as I am moving. Will be fun to see if the realities match my spreadsheet as to which bottles I have. Also if there should be any bottles with seepage, that needs to be drunk sooner rather than later.
