How long should I decant it?? It's room temperature right now, should I refrigerate it overnight? I've only had a few VPs and is been a couple years, now.
Nice gift. I would open it, pour into a decanter, make sure no sediment in bottle, then rebottle and leave corked in the cellar or other cool place for at 24-36 hours.

I was thinking into a decanter for 12-24 hours (no rebottling), or 40 years.

I'd go for the 40 years - lay it down as a gift to the next generation, and buy a bottle the previous generation had the foresight to lay down..

'71 Dalva Golden White Colheita. Nicely balanced acidity with a smooth, sweet, long citrus flavor. This is good stuff.

1985 Offley Boa Vista VP. What a great glass of Port. A nice, dark burgundy color with a beautiful perfume when I opened the bottle. It's at it's peak drinking point and although it's more of a lighter to medium weight port it's nice and smooth. I'm curious how it'll hold up on days 2 and 3.

Dow 83

Very lightweight for a Dow VP, but an otherwise pleasant quaff - score 5-5

I will post a TN for this one after I've had more time with it. At the moment I can say it has at least had a good start, 94+ points.

Last weekend I had some sports friends over for a wine tasting and they enjoy me serving them up some port. So I did :D

10 YO White Andresen. Crisp, fragrant and beautiful
10 YO Tawny Blackett. Succulent and rich.
1982 Colheita Andresen. A favourite of mine. Nimble and lush, just such a elegant wine.
1997 VP Graham's. Unplanned pop and pour. But this 23 year old is starting to transform slowly but steady. Makes for delicious drinking now, but will will hold its own in 20 years time.

The guests were pleased [friends.gif]

I have six magnums of FG91 - bought in 2015 when the TFP did a bit of housekeeping and sent some remnants to auction. I've never seen another magnum of FG - of any vintage - before or since, although there seem to be some recent ones around - and wonder whether these six may have been filled on a whim and are otherwise unique..
