Sitting on the patio of a bungalow at Faja dos Padres. Listening to the waves crash. Just opened a 2005 Andresen Colheita bottled 2020. I know it's not Madeira, but it was gifted by Carlos Flores.

Sounds idyllic! How is that 2005? I had to leave my 2000 with George Sandeman to be shipped later.

Nice. Obviously not old. Still with a lot of red and fruit but perfect listening to the waves.

Is there an application that needs to be filled out to be your friend?

1994 Delforce VP. Keeps getting better over time. Thought it was a crappy port a decade ago, but it's a lot better now! Has plenty of life ahead of it.

1990 Niepoort Petre VP. Dark ruby color. Nice mix of Christmas spices, blueberries and cigar ash on the nose. Smooth and full of fruit, but with a little heat on the finish. A nice Port.

It was a bit of an unusual week. A COVID rapid antigen test every day and then fabulous Port for lunch and dinner.

Does anyone have a list of the vintages that Niepoort made a Petre vintage? I've had 1995 and Mike has mentioned 1990. There's 1994 mentioned in the TNDB. What else have people seen?

I looked at Cellartracker and they list people who have a bottle of the Niepoort Petre for the following years: 1934, 1975, 1980, 1995 & 1997 as well as the years you've already mentioned.

1999 Dow Crusted. Had one pop and pour glass after finishing '94 Delaforce. Dow was quite sweeter than the Delaforce. Tonight will be a better judge on the '99. Cork came out perfect.

2000 Broadbent LBV (bottled by Quinta do Crasto). The first day it was more or less a disjointed mess. 24 hours in the decanter and it's a dark purple, light on the palate, fruity and smooth Port. It's an easy drinking LBV and tastes a lot younger then its 21 years.

+1 on the request. I've seen some of those at auction and put in bids, but haven't won one yet. I'm thinking they're now getting a little long in the bottle.

It was very nice. The King Pedro is the better of the two, IMO. Didn't seem over the hill yet, but it didn't last long opened when I shared it so hard to say exactly from the 1/2 bottle I opened.
