1992 Andresen LBV. Not nearly as good as the '95 version, but still a very nice LBV.

1985 Warre in a half bottle. Unfortunately it had some VA in it. Not enough to make it undrinkable, but enough to spoil the enjoyment of what should have been a nice glass of wine.

Found an S. Leonardo 30 year tawny, bottled in 2013, in the cellar. It's very good but starting to lose some of it's edge from being in bottle so long.

To cheer myself up after the VA spoiled half bottle of Warre 1985 I opened a bottle of Martínez 1967 this evening. Superb.

I finished a bottle of Dow's 20 year old tawny last night. Normally takes me about two weeks to finish a 750ml tawny. This one tasted great from start to finish.

Coincidentally, I opened a 2015 Graham LBV this past weekend! It's a wonderful LBV... right up there with the 2011 Crasto for me.

Quinta de Pacheca 20 Year Tanwy!!
Just marvelous as always. Praline paste, toasted orange zest. Gorgeous mouthful, extended finish. From a 500 ml bottle shared with 5 others after a lobster feast--perfect coda to the evening.

1985 Croft VP.
A stunner in "mint" condition. Sleek on the entry, lush with Amarena cherries and toffee and the hallmark of Croft, the mint. Long after-taste as well. This is in a perfect spot for drinking right now. My friends were very pleased and it was gone in a jiff. 95 points.

I'll have to keep an eye out for this one. Sounds great.

I had my tasting this weekend with my college buddies. We had the following Colheitas.
1937 Quinta do Noval
1944 Kopke
1955 Burmester
1968 Krohn's
1976 Krohn's
1982 Andresen
1994 Graham's Harvest
The star of the night for me was the '76 Krohn's followed by the '68 Krohn's and then the '37 Quinta do Noval. The '55 Burmester was good, but not as good as I expected. It was the only relative disappointment in the line up. All in all it was a great night.

Wow! Great lineup. I'm glad that the 1976 Krohn is still showing well!

When was the Burmester 1955 bottled? I still have one bottled in 1985, I hope it won't be that disapointing

Mine was bottled in 1989, but I will mention that it had a little bit of mold under the foil on the top of the cork. I'll try another glass of it tonight to see if there was any change
I tried another glass of the '37 Quinta do Noval last night and it was a completely different Colheita...in a great way. It had picked up more body and flavor to match the acidity that was always there. When I poured a half glass of it last night, it was a light burgundy color which really shocked me. As I got closer to finishing the glass it was a golden honey brown. This went from a 92 on Saturday night to an easy 95 (maybe a 96) two nights later.
