1985 Croft VP.
A stunner in "mint" condition. Sleek on the entry, lush with Amarena cherries and toffee and the hallmark of Croft, the mint. Long after-taste as well. This is in a perfect spot for drinking right now. My friends were very pleased and it was gone in a jiff. 95 points.
I'll have to keep an eye out for this one. Sounds great.
I would strongly recommend doing so. I myself will be on the lookout for additional bottles as this was the lone C85 I owned.

Dow's 2007 Colheita. A lovely young-ish tawny.

All gems! Hope you have a blast.
I opened a Dalva 1995 colheita (Bottled in 2020) yesterday and I am going to finish it with my Irish neighbour tomorrow while watching some NFL. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday night.

All three have been fantastic! The Fonseca and Graham were outstanding, as expected, but the 1983 Gould Campbell really surprised me with its excellence! It is still so youthful... I would have thought it was 1994 had I tasted it blind.
Cheers to you and your Irish friend! Hope that 1995 Dalva was joyous!

I was really just looking for something that would be reasonably soft and mature, but still fruity, to pair with some amazing New York Strip steaks that I'd acquired for dinner. But your post might have been in the back of my mind and may have influenced my choice!
After many attempts, I think I've
finally perfected sous vide + sear for big steaks. These turned out really good!

Ferreira Dona Antonia 20 y.o. Tawny. Good but I prefer the older version (Ferreira Duque de Braganca 20 y.o. Tawny). This tastes slightly thinner than the Duque.

1997 Kopke Colheita, 375 ml, bottled 2008. Still tasty, but I should have decanted as the last pour had a lot of sediment.

I really like sous vide cooking, and it can make a lot of cheaper cuts of meat taste a lot better. But I think I've come to the conclusion that a poor steak isn't going to be made great by sous vide, although possibly better. Of course a good steak sous vide with a great sear is wonderful.
