yes, but long ago. Not one of the best vintages of Pintas, but one that should be very nice to start drinking now.

I still hold 3 bottles of the 2002 Pintas which i like alot. Tricky vintage on the Douro but some wines came out pretty fine...Pintas being one of them. I think it will age beautifully as the lack of (huge) body is compensated by a higher acidity and exceptional balance.

2008 Altano Reserva Quinta do Ataíde Douro
This is 100% Touriga Nacional from grapes planted starting in the late 1970's. Paul Symington and his wife served this to us on the Harvest Trip last year and I was very impressed with it (90-91+ score). I assume there wasn't much imported (I've not seen it in the States till now) but at $18/bottle, this is a killer deal on one heck of a good wine!

I bought a bunch of bottles today:
2008 Quinta do Crasto Reserva, the ONLY vintage in the past decade that I had never purchased of this wine.
2005 Quinta de la Rosa Reserve - Although I own a case already, one can never have enough of this stunning DOC wine.
2006 of the same wine as above. Never had it before and look forward to it.
2005 Val da Raposa Reserva - by Qta da Gaivosa.

Finally got this wine delivered to my house. Vendor had issues with shipping to my beloved State. Not going to try one, just put them into the cellar. A local B&M has them in stock, but not sure if 2008.

I'd try one to see if they are cellar worthy or more inline as a daily drinker. Or if for no other reason than to see if I liked it. Just saying....

I can wait 5-10 years to try it unless I see a single somewhere for sale. I agree and like to have a baseline bottle before I age. Usually meaning I buy an additional bottle from the 6 or 12, or have had it somewhere else. I was not that keen on the regular Carm bottling, but the Reserva's came up on WS with a decent score and the price was right. I usually don't buy from ratings, but not much from Portugal is ever of mention.
