6x Tesco's Finest 2000 Vintage (in 375ml bottles) [Tesco is the biggest supermarket chain in the UK]

Tasted a bottle last week and was very happy with it, so bought a few more today. Found them in a couple of Tescos, but they aren't mentioned on the website.

I am finding the whole Port wine at Tesco a bit of a random experience. I found a single bottle of Taylor's 1985 on the shelf today priced £75 (which is on the cheaper end of the range for this vintage, but not the cheapest!) - found it strange that they should have a single bottle of this wine on the shelf....and I know that it hasn't been sitting around for long, because I'm familiar with those shelves!

A very nice wine... there is some bottle variation, but all the bottles I have had have ranged from excellent to stupendous! :D

Prices of port wine are in general cheaper in Denmark than Norway. Transport costs are killing more than the price difference. A few years ago the rules were changed, and we can now bring home 36 bottles per person as travel goods and paying only USD 12 per bottle in duty. Norwegian FTLOP-member Thomas Tideman Holst has informed me that if I make a pre-arrangement with the Danish importer/stockholder, then they will refund the VAT 25 % and alcohol duties one USD per bottle), which makes it more interesting.
My wife and I purchased totally 75 bottles of mix port wine, Douro red and Douro white (many of them not available in Norway) from three different importers, and it worked nicely.

Port wines:
12 x NV Burmester 20 year old tawny (bottled 2010)
3 x 1937 Burmester Colheita (bottled 2010)
3 x 1955 Burmester Colheita (bottled 2009)
3 x 1963 Burmester Colheita (bottled 2009)
1 x 1999 Quinta do Crasto Vintage
1 x 2003 Pintas Vintage
1 x 2004 Quinta do Vale Meao Vintage

Nice score Rune!

Thanks to Thomas, who has been a long time supporter of FTLOP. Glad he was able to share that info with you.

I had the Vale Meao '04 two weeks ago and it is getting better and better.

Enjoy those Burmester Colheitas too!

I picked up a bottle of Noval Black at my local grocery store because it had been marked down to $19.95, which is much more reasonable than the $29.95 that they normally try to sell it for.

While I like the Noval Black, $29.95 is just crazy; ~$20 is more reasonable. Me, I recently purchased some 1991 Fonseca Guimaraens and Taylor Quinta de Vargellas.
