From the FTLOP 5th Anniversary Party at the Holiday Inn Issaquah, July 31, 2010.

I was having an off palate night, possibly caused by dinner at Cucina Cucina, so my ratings were significantly lower than everyone else's. In some cases I have reverted back to my initial impressions because, in retrospect, those seem more appropriate given how others were scoring.

1952 Dalva Golden White Colheita
bottled 2008

Color: Golden apricot, crystal clear.
Nose: Funky - soap fairly prominent.
Palate: Meyer lemon, key lime. Nice tang. But more of the soap. Texture of heated honey.
Finish: Short, but fairly typical for white Colheitas. Some very mild, very faint honey.

Score: 91 points. Another Port that I desperately wanted to love - and have loved before - but just wasn't feeling it on this night. An excellent showing, but it should have been outstanding.
