For The Love Of Port

Today I called one of three guests from Western Canada to speak to him about one of his buddies who has not got back in touch with me this week to let me know whether or not he could find a way out of some scheduling conflicts that he feared might get in the way of his ability to come on this year's Port Harvest Tour as he had reserved months ago. I spoke to both of the others today who were part of the posse and this was their very good friend. Although i never met James Hoshizaki, I did speak to him several times by phone and enjoyed our conversations and had been looking forward to meeting him. Jim had a wife and two young children. We spoke of our daughters the last time I talked to him, as they're nearly the same age:

Absolutely horrible! From the article it appears he was an avid outdoors-man doing what he loved at the time of passing. I say we raise a toast to him when the other members gather on the Harvest Trip.

My condolences to his family, if there is any comfort in it (as Andy said) - he was doing something he loved when tragedy struck.
