From David Spriggs' 50th birthday party at Roy's house.
1895 Araujo de Barros Verdelho
bottled 1949
Color: Deep yellow/tan. Not quite golden, but close.
Nose: Citrus/lemon. Smooth but acidic.
Palate: Tasted from a small drip: butter pecan ice cream. From the glass, very dry and tart which overwhelms a flavor as subtle as ice cream.
Finish: Buttered popcorn, coffee, un-popped toasted popcorn kernals.
I don't score Madeiras because I don't really understand them. But they're interesting to try!
